Electric car charging cables

What kind of cable is suitable for my electric car?

There are different charging cables for electric cars according to the intended use. In our online shop, the cables are divided into type 1 and type 2 cables according to the car’s charging plug. Under these menus you will find public charging station charging cables, travel charging cables and power cables for your car.

You will find the type of charging plug for your car as well as suitable cables and charging stations are constantly updating this tool.

Travel charging cables are suitable for charging a car from a standard household socket, and are usually supplied with a new car. Depending on the car’s charging standard, one end of the travel charging cable has either a type 1  or a type 2 plug, with an earthed plug at the other end.

Public charging station cables are suitable for charging a car from type 2 charging points. Most public charging points are of this type. The public charging station charging cable often comes with a new car, but not always. In used cars, these cables have often been taken away by the previous owners. Depending on the car’s charging standard, one end of the public charging station charging cable has either a type 1 or type 2 plug and the other end always has a type 2 plug.

Our online shop also has power cables to charge electric cars from red 16A or 32A power outlets.

A suitable cable means a cable that allows you to charge your car at maximum power. A stronger cable can also be used. The 3x32A type 2 cable is suitable for charging all cars with a type 2 plug. Correspondingly, a 1x32A type 1 cable can be used to charge all cars with a type 1 plug at maximum power.
